ABOUT ALANA
Alana Loewe Weiss has been a voice and performance coach for nearly two decades. She takes great pride in creating a safe space to help her students produce dramatic vocal improvements, a performance style of their own, and an increased confidence auditioning or performing in front of an audience.
Alana received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she majored in Dramatic Art with an emphasis in Directing. While at UCSB, Alana became a founding member of their award winning pop/rock a cappella group, Naked Voices. After graduating, she began studying and teaching at the Vocal Power Academy in Los Angeles before establishing Alana Voice Studio in 2008. Alana is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and has been certified as a nationally recognized enrichment teacher by the National Enrichment Teachers Association (NETA).
Alana has been teaching voice and performance at Calabasas High School since she moved back to Los Angeles in 2004. She has vocal directed several of the school’s MainStage musicals and has been co-directing the school’s award winning pop/rock A Cappella Program since its inception in 2001. Under her direction, the a cappella program has been two time featured performers at Carnegie Hall, were crowned three time champions of the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival, toured the US and China, produced two full length albums and several EP’s (available on all major music platforms), and are featured seven times in Varsity Vocal’s Best of High School A Cappella anthology. Alana is a frequent judge at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (the competition made famous by the “Pitch Perfect” franchise), a masterclass clinician at the LA A Cappella Festival, and is a fixture in the world of contemporary a cappella.
In addition to coaching, Alana dedicates herself and her time to her husband, Adam, and her daughters, Taylor and Charley.
