ABOUT ALANA
Alana Loewe Weiss has been a voice and performance coach and vocal director for 25 years. She takes great pride in creating a safe space to help her students produce dramatic vocal improvements, a performance style of their own, and an increased confidence auditioning and performing in front of an audience.
Alana received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she majored in Dramatic Art with an emphasis in Directing. Her background in acting, directing, and stage performance deeply informs her approach to vocal direction, emphasizing authenticity, emotional connection, and performances that are not only powerful to hear but captivating to watch. While at UCSB, Alana became a founding member of their award winning pop/rock a cappella group, Naked Voices. Upon graduating, she began studying and teaching at the Vocal Power Academy in Los Angeles before establishing Alana Voice Studio in 2008. Alana is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and has been certified as a nationally recognized enrichment teacher by the National Enrichment Teachers Association (NETA).
Alana has been teaching voice and performance in the Las Virgenes Unified School District since 2001. She is a Vocal Director for the Calabasas High School theater program, the choir coach at AC Stelle Middle School, and is the co-director and co-founder of the school’s award winning contemporary A Cappella Program. Under her direction, the A Cappella Program were finalists in the 2025 International Championship of High School A Cappella (the competition made famous by the Pitch Perfect franchise), two-time featured performers at Carnegie Hall, and three-time champions of the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival. The ensembles have performed nationwide, released two full-length albums and multiple EPs (available on all major music platforms), and been featured seven times in Varsity Vocals’ Best of High School A Cappella anthology. Under her direction, the program has become a cornerstone of the a cappella community and is widely recognized as one of the top high school a cappella programs in the country.
Beyond the classroom, Alana is a frequent judge at the International Championship of Collegiate and High School A Cappella, a masterclass clinician, and a recognized presence in the contemporary a cappella community. In addition to her work as a coach and director, Alana dedicates herself and her time to her husband, Adam, and her daughters, Taylor and Charley.
